Absence from the National Team
Ahmed Shenaoui, goalkeeper of Pyramids, stated that he does not feel that his exclusion from Egypt’s World Cup squad was unfair. He notes that football does not give everything at the time a player wants it, and that everyone has their share and fortune.
Pyramids’ Achievements
Shenaoui emphasized that maintaining his level over the past two seasons was no coincidence, pointing out that the strength of Pyramids, along with work with goalkeeper coach Khaled Abdullah, helped him deliver consistent performances and continue to develop.
He notes that the team has experienced an exceptional period in the last two seasons, having won 4 championships, with 3 titles in the last season and 1 in the season before that. He adds that ambition continues to aim for more, with the top goal being the Egyptian Premier League title.
Reward for Performance
Regarding his absence from the World Cup squad, Shenaoui said he does not feel wronged, confirming that football does not grant everything at the time a player wants it, and that everyone has their share and fortune.
He added that winning 3 titles in the last season, along with receiving the Best Goalkeeper award in Egypt, represents a great reward for his effort, stressing that he is completely satisfied with his career and what he has achieved so far.
The World Cup Dream
Shenaoui confirmed that participation in the World Cup remains a huge dream for any player, given its value and history in a career, but he ultimately sees that reaching the World Cup is linked to fortune, and that what has not been achieved may be compensated for better at a later time.
